The Rubella IgG/IgM Rapid Test (Whole Blood/Serum/Plasma) is a qualitative, lateral flow
immunoassay for the detection of IgG/IgM antibodies to Rubella in serum or plasma specimens, The test consists of:1
) a red colored conjugate containing monoclonal anti-human IgG/IgM
conjugated with colloid gold (monoclonal anti-human IgG/IgM conjugates).2) a nitrocellulose membrane strip containing a test band (T band) and a control band (C band). The T ban is pre-coated with rubella specific antigen for detection of IgG/IgM anti-Rubella, and the C band is pre-coated with goat anti mouse IgG. When an adequate volume of test specimen is applied into the sample pad of the test, the
specimen migrates be capillary action across the strip.IgG/IgM anti-rubella if present in the
specimen will bind to the monoclonal anti-human IgG/IgM conjugates. The immune complex is
then captured on the membrane by the pre-coated rubella specific antigen, forming a colored T
band indicating a rubella IgG/IgM positive test result. Absence of T band suggests a negative result. The test contains an internal control (C band) which should exhibit a colored band of the immune complex of goat anti mouse IgG/IgM old
conjugate regardless of the colored development on the T band.Otherwise, the test result is
invalid and the specimen must be retested with another device. To serve as a procedural control, a colored line will always appear in the control line region of the
strip indicating that proper volume of specimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred.
